cable UTP or ( Unshield Twisted Pair ) is a network cable used to connect computers to computers or computers to network devices such as hubs, switches, etc.
UTP cable is a
network cable that is most often used, especially for LAN network
installations, because of its low cost and easy installation, however,
this cable does not have an aluminum shield which makes it easy to be
exposed to electromagnetic interference and also the range of this UTP
cable is only a maximum of 100 meters. , the rest of the data transfer
speed will slow down if you don't use a repeater.
UTP cable uses an RJ-45
connector that is used to connect to computer and network devices, which
is capable of transferring data at speeds up to 1000mbps.
For its types, UTP cable has 3 types. That is:
1. straight-through
- used to connect different devices eg computer to router.
2. cross-over
- used to connect the same device, namely computer to computer.
3. roll-over
- used to connect different devices, but devices that have a console such as a hub to a printer.
