How to undo an action in Photoshop CS6 or CS5?

To undo recent changes:
 

  • From Photoshop's main menu, click on the Edit section. A menu will appear, you need to click on the line starting with "Undo" and ending with the name of the tool applied or editing. This helps to understand what needs to be changed.
  • The Ctrl+Z key sequence will take you back one step by removing the last tool you applied. 
  • In the right column, find the "History" section. All the operations you have performed (usually the last 20 operations) will be shown here. Click the penultimate line, this will take your work one step back in Photoshop. Sometimes this window or tab is disabled, you can enable the view through the workspace menu settings.

  •     To cancel multiple edits in a row, you need to find the "Edit" section in the main menu and press "Cancel" as many times as needed. Click as many items as you want to remove modifications.
  •     Exactly the same effect as described in the previous paragraph can be obtained by pressing the hotkey Ctrl+Alt+Z. Changes made in the reverse order of the application will be lost. Only elements added to the image will be removed, and the selected brush color will remain the same.
  •     To go back several steps with a single click, it is better to use the History tab. Find this menu to the right of the program workspace (in the English version it is called "History"). By default, this list contains the 20 most recent changes, select the desired restore point and click on it. If you select changes too far, click on the line below, and the program will return to the beginning of the first image created. This option will help you remove or discard any changes you need.
